Services for local groups

St Luke's is increasing the range of services and facilities it offers to local groups that have similar aims to supporting and improving the quality of life for local residents.

These services and facilities can provide the means for small start up organisatios to gain a solid footing and strengthen themselves. They can also help embed already more established organisations who wish to have a presence and service offer in our neighbourhood.

Hot desks

We have flexible hot desk space available for use by voluntary groups looking for private or shared office facilities for a few hours a week. Office space is let by the half-day or full-day per week, and available Monday to Friday. The cost is £17.50 for a half day and £30 for a full day. Included in the price is office space with PC workstations and software, internet access, use of a photocopier, scanner and monochrome laser printer (supply own paper), use of a landline telephone (outgoing and incoming calls, outgoing calls charged at cost), a lockable cabinet and refreshments. For more information please email hotdesk@slpt.org.uk or telephone 020 7549 8181.

Room Hire

The Centre contains a wide range of spaces for meetings, conferences and service delivery by other organsiations. If you are providing a service to local residents from our centre we often charge a minimal hire rate, and often nothing at all, depending on your organsiation's financial circumstances. See the relevant section Room Hire for more details about the rooms and how to contact us.

Business Link

Business Link Service to local groups

Is your organisation based in our local area, and would you benefit from professional help with your accounts, management structure, legal framework etc? If so, we have started an exciting new project to link up the private sector with local groups to offer practical advice and support.

Iin partnership with EC1 New Deal for Communities we have developed a new project to promote and facilitate business engagement in the ongoing renewal of the EC1 Neighbourhood. The project will help to develop and encourage sustainable long term partnerships between corporate businesses and community organisations and schools.

Over the coming months St. Luke’s will be matching community projects with corporate volunteers to support the valuable work that you undertake. This support will come in many forms, primarily through staff volunteering their time to your organisation.

This may take the form of:

Mentoring – A business individual supporting a member of staff from the organisation, giving them strategic and practical guidance. The mentoring could also be extended to the client groups your organisations work with.

Practical Volunteering – Probably the scenario that groups are most familiar with this will take the form of a “team challenge” where teams of individuals will spend the day with you. This may be a garden or room makeover, a day trip for service users, an interview and CV workshop or indeed anything that you feel would add benefit.

ProBono Support – Dealing with specific issues that arise where organisations need professional service support across four main areas, Legal, Property and Architecture, Finance and Business and PR and Marketing.

To access the above assistance we will need to develop a community engagement plan for your organisation and as a first step we will be making direct contact with as many local groups that we discover over the coming weeks.

Full joining instructions will be emailed out along with an agenda prior to the event. In the meantime should anyone have any queries or to RSVP please email businesslink@slpt.org.uk or telephone Ben Ahmed or Jason Tetley on 0207 549 8195
