Trustees

St Luke's is governed by a board of fourteen Trustees. Six of the Trustees are selected by and appointed from outside organisations (Nominative Trustees). One Trustee is the Rector of St Giles' Church, Cripplegate (Ex Officio Trustee). The remaining six Trustees are made up by individuals who live locally or have a strong connection to the area such as through birthplace, home or work (Co-optative Trustees).

Reverend David Allen

Reverend David Allen

(Ex-Officio)
David is vicar of the church closest to the Community Centre. He was a former Board member of EC1 New Deal for Communities and is actively involved in the local neighbourhood.
John Barker

John Barker OBE, Deputy

(Nominative Trustee – City of London Corporation)
John is a Common Councilman for the City of London Corporation for the Ward of Cripplegate. He represents the residents who live on the Golden Lane Estate which forms part of the St Luke's area of benefit. His working background is finance and he serves on the Finance Committee.
Paul Convery

Paul Convery

(Nominative Trustee – London Borough of Islington)
Paul is a Labour Councillor for the nearby Caledonian Ward in Islington. He also lives in the borough. In his professional capacity he works in the social economic and regeneration sector.
Jean Dolphin

Jean Dolphin

(Co-Optative)
Jean is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Her family have lived in the local area for many years and she was educated in Islington. Jean was also Head of Housing for Islington Council and Chairman of a large Housing Association. She is now a housing consultant for national charities and housing providers.
Nigel Fletcher

Nigel Fletcher

(Co-Optative)
Nigel is Vice-Chairman of the Trust and Chairman of the Finance Committee. He has lived in the immediate area for over 30 years. Nigel's expertise lies in the area of finance and investment management, and he was a senior director of American Express Bank and Merrill Lynch.
Jack Goulde

Jack Goulde

(Co-Optative)
Jack is a chartered surveyor with a wealth of experience advising clients or being a Trustee in the charity sector. He was formerly Managing Director of Charles Church Ltd housebuilders. He is a highly experienced Trustee and has been on the Board of SCOPE.
Joan Herbert

Joan Herbert

(Co-optative)
Joan is a former Mayor of Islington and was deeply involved in our local community, with a particular focus on disabled persons. She is well-known in the community and especially by older people who use the Community Centre.
Adrain Johnson

Adrian Johnson

(Nominative – Parochial Church Council of St Giles' Cripplegate.)
Adrian's family has a very long connection with the St Luke's area and Islington. He is a Chartered Surveyor by training and lives and works close-by in the Barbican Estate.
Tim Macer

Tim Macer

(Nominative – Parochial Church Council of St Giles' Cripplegate.)
Tim is the founder of his IT consultancy business Meaning Ltd, and is internationally known as an analyst and commentator on software for survey research. In 2006, Tim was appointed Visiting Senior Fellow at the University of Southampton, where he is involved in research in the field of marketing analytics. He lives locally in the Barbican and is Chairman of the Business Development and Partnership sub-Committee.
 

Keith Powell

(Co-optative)

Keith joined the Board in June 2009 having recently retired as a partner from the Trust's own lawyers Charles Russell LLP. He brings with him a deep passion and wisdom of charities and the law surrounding them, together with decades of experience dealing with the legal intricacies of charity property development matters. He now lives in deepest Surrey having lived in London for most of his life.

Keith Sharp

Keith Sharp

(Nominative – London Borough of Islington)
Keith is highly active in the social and political life in the St Luke's area. He lives in the neighbouring Ward of Clerkenwell. Professionally, Keith is a business and communications consultant with more than 25 years experience in the field.
Joe Trotter

Joe Trotter

(Co-optative)
Joe is a very well-known figure in the local area and lives in the neighbourhood and was born and bred here. He is a former Mayor of Islington. He serves on the Board of Homes for Islington and was Chair of the Borough's Housing Committee.

Troy Gallagher

(Nominative – London Borough of Islington)
Troy joined the St Luke's Board on 30th June 2010 having been elected in May 2010 as one of the three Bunhill Ward Labour councillors.  He is a local and very active resident, well known to many.

There is currently one vacant Co-optative Trustee position.
