EC1 - you've got to love it!The campaign to attract residents onto EC1 Neighbourhood Steering Group, called ‘EC1, you’ve got to love it’ captured the imaginations of dozens of residents. We had over 50 enquiries and eighteen residents were interviewed, it was a very tough job selecting the nine to join the group. The independent interviewers were really impressed by everyone’s enthusiasm for EC1 – it’s clear that many people do love living here. This group brings together local residents, service providers, councillors and community organisations. They will be working together to achieve better service co-ordination, stronger championing of the area, and enable greater resident participation in decisions on how the local area is managed. The key service areas the NSG will concentrate on for the first year will be in line with the EC1 NDC succession strategy: • Worklessness and child poverty • Young people's aspirations • Isolation of Older People • Community Engagement

It will be managed by St Luke’s Trust and will continue to provide residents with a say in how services are delivered in their community when the NDC programme ends in March 2011.
