It's been a very busy and productive year at St Luke's, and we've moved into our Christmas planning phase, which is always a really exciting time to be part of the Centre. The decorations have now gone up, and there are sparkly Christmas trees around the Centre. Our Christmas Giving Campaign is in full swing as we try and get gifts for everyone who is attending our older members' Christmas party and our Christmas Day party. There are lots of other events going on too in the lead up to Christmas, with a Friday evening drop in Cafe with festive crafts, festive baking and cooking and a carol service. It's all go here!

Plans for the events are being made behind the scenes, with volunteers co-ordinated, timetables fine-tuned and food ordered and planned. There's a lot that goes into ensuring these events go smoothly.

The Christmas Fayre on Saturday 7th December includes lots of stalls with crafts and food on them that people can browse, and some where you can take part in making things. There's baking in the Cookery School, delicious lunches served in the dining area, and singing and dancing everywhere. So many local people come along and it really is the start of the Christmas celebrations for us. We love having everyone here and the Centre being full, festive and noisy!

Then it's onto our Christmas parties, for older members and for any local residents who might be alone on Christmas Day. These are really special celebrations, and it's lovely to see the smiles on people's faces enjoying a meal and a drink, and singing and dancing with friends.

Then it's back to business with lots of new and exciting activities and events in 2020. Earlier this year we launched our 'all ages membership' initiative, to encourage people of any age to sign up for membership of St Luke's, and benefit from free or low cost classes and priority bookings. Previously our membership was only open to over 55s, but we are a Centre for the whole community, whatever your age, so we wanted this to be wide open. We've recruited hundreds of new members of all ages, and we'll continue to encourage people to sign up and become part of our special community hub. We'd like all locals to be a part of our Centre in 2020, and enjoy the range of activities and events that we have on offer for all ages.

You're all welcome to come along and see our community hub for yourself!
