St Luke’s Regular Activities Monday to Sunday - You can join in at any time of the year, the classes are open to all members and if indicated non-members. Some of the classes are only open during term time, so please check before attending.

If you are not a member and live in our area of benefit you can join on the day for just £5 and lasts the lifetime you live in the area.

Snooker available for members every day in the Games Room during Centre opening times.

Everyone is welcome to use/visit our two community terraces (located over the café space) and in the Food Growing Area at the back of the centre. Free Wi-Fi available in these areas.

Upcycling with Irfana

A session where you can bring in your pre-loved recycling and turn it into a new item for the home or a gift for a loved one.
The Talent Space with Sophie

The talent space is a creative space for children and families to work on a piece of talent with support from Sophie the musician. Children can practice singing, dancing, or work on a hidden talent of their choice.

St Luke's Room Hire in South Islington

Within easy walking distance of Old Street, Angel and Barbican tube stations and many bus routes, we have modern, well-appointed spaces for any meeting or event. We understand the uncertainty of booking a room. We have adapted our T&Cs so you can cancel with a full refund a week before your event.

What we do and who we help

We are a community hub in South Islington providing services, activities and events for local residents of all ages, including after school clubs, employment support and gardening for older people. Our large, modern community centre on Central Street is a great backdrop for our varied activities and we have several outdoor areas for visitors to enjoy. Our spaces are also available to hire for community groups or private functions.
Garden Room

The largest of our meeting rooms, the Garden Room has its own private entrance from the street and exclusive use of a terrace garden. It is a blank canvas to create the right setting and configuration for your event, and benefits from neutral, stylish décor and is flooded with dappled natural light.

Do you live in our area of benefit? You could become a member at St Luke's for a one-off charge of just £5. Our Centre offers services and activities every day for all ages, including art, exercise and gardening groups and a daily lunch club.
Lunches at St Luke's

Islington locals who are over 55 can enjoy a subsidised, freshly-made three-course lunch at St Luke's every weekday in our dining room. The menu changes daily, and includes a roast on Wednesday and fish and chip Friday! Anyone with mobility issues can discuss transport to and from the Centre with us. Find out more here.

Families and Children in South Islington

We offer a range of free activities and support for families living in south Islington. From free after school kids' clubs, giving children the opportunity to try different activities, to school holiday camps, there's something to suit every family. Find out what St Luke's has to offer.
The Loft

The Loft occupies the whole third floor of the Community Centre, and has exclusive use of an entrance (ante) room, kitchen area and toilet, within this spacious and versatile area. It is bright and airy, and ideal for meetings, conferences, training, seminars or less formal events. Its exposed Victorian steel beams and skylight windows offer wonderful views over the roof tops of London.
