We have been recruiting in several areas over the past few months at St Luke’s, to ensure we have staff to deal with commitments to our community with our longer opening hours and all ages approach to membership and services. Introducing Tsedal A role we’re excited to now have in place is the Health and Wellbeing Officer, which has been taken on by Tsedal Menghistu. Tsedal is a familiar face at St Luke’s, having run the Women’s Multicultural Group. She’s previously worked at Octopus Communities in Islington. The aim of the new role is to connect our community to the services and facilities available to promote health and wellbeing within St Luke’s Community Centre. There is so much on offer that can make a difference and this role can match individuals to activities that can help their specific needs. The role aims to: Improve the health and mental wellbeing of the community by working in collaboration with staff, residents and our partners. To provide information, support and signposting to members who are experiencing health-related issues. To develop and implement a health-related training programme for staff and volunteers to enable them to effectively support the community. Tsedal says: “I am excited to be part of St Luke’s team to support the community to be healthier, feeling confident, happier and using our amazing facilities.
