On Friday 18th October we celebrated St Luke's Day with a full day of celebrations for all local people.

During the day we hosted a delicious 3 course lunch for our Over 55s Members who enjoyed a delicious roast lamb dinner and a glass of wine!

After lunch, members enjoyed listening to speeches and entertainment as well as creating a piece of art based on What they Love about St Luke’s. Chair, Don Kehoe thanked Former Chair, Keith Sharp for his many years of service on the Board of Trustees. Singer Jonathan Stevens then got members swaying to his tunes and the crowd sang along to their favourite songs while many got up for a dance!

In the evening the Centre was transformed with Central Street Cafe becoming an art gallery displaying work from our resident artists and the Garden Room becoming a cabaret bar where guests enjoyed some amazing music from the Bee Ororo Band and Rosie Webb. During the music, artist Bob Dawson ran a Drawing to Music art class where guests were encouraged to tap into their imagination and let creative juices flow.

Guests also enjoyed pizza making in the Cookery School, bulb planting in the Greenhouse and herbal tea tasting on the night.

It truly was an azaming event for everyone in the community. We hope to do many more of these style of events, so keep your eyes peeled for more information!

The event was supported by volunteers from corporate supporters, CMS Legal and Bear Architects, who helped set up the events and serve lunch and refreshments alongside St Luke’s staff. Thank you to all staff and volunteers who helped out at the event, it is as always extremely appreciated.
