Hurrah – Local families are back at St Luke’s Community Centre!

We were delighted to welcome families to the centre for three afternoons of creative fun and arts and crafts. Over the week 21 families came along including many people who had not been to St Luke’s before. The session was led by Angela, one of St Luke’s community artists based in our art studios at St Luke’s. Families sat together in family and friendship bubbles, and the activity worked well with social distancing. We were inspired and uplifted by everyone’s creativity, drawings and stunning masks. There was much laughter and smiles and people said they felt very happy to be out after weeks of lockdown and nowhere to take children. As one parent said

“It’s good after Lockdown to come and enjoy yourself with the children and get creative as adults too”.

Families took home art packs so they can carry on creating together at home.

We are planning more family activities in September and hope to do more of these art and craft sessions. Please check our website and social media for more information – or pop in to the centre and speak to our reception team.
