Here at St Luke’s, our Business Engagement Project promotes meaningful partnerships between corporate businesses and local community initiatives. We collaborate with companies across diverse sectors, including architecture, law, construction, finance, insurance, marketing and accountancy, to drive positive change.
Our partnerships are shaped by our Mission Priorities:
✅ Tackling disadvantage
✅ Improving the health and well-being of local people
✅ Strengthening community connections
We align our work with the core pillars of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): philanthropy, sustainability, community engagement, and ethical practices—creating lasting partnerships that benefit both businesses and the local community. These collaborations allow companies to integrate social impact into their business models while sharing their expertise through volunteering, pro bono support, and financial contributions.
St Luke’s at the UN Conference on Agenda 2030
Our Business Engagement Manager, John Garces, has previously attended events at the United Nations in New York, showcasing our partnerships with the private sector under Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This February, John had the privilege of attending another United Nations conference in New York, recognising past participants as agents of change in sustainable development under Agenda 2030 and the SDGs.
At the event, John highlighted three of our flagship programs, developed in collaboration with the private sector, as models for driving social mobility:
✅ #StepsToSuccess – Careers fair for primary & secondary school students, primarily in EC1 London
✅ #DigitalSupport – Connecting and supporting those affected by digital exclusion
✅ #FirmFutures – Helping aspiring entrepreneurs launch their businesses
This conference coincided with the 10th Assembly of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGIS), themed “Charting Progress to Shape the Future: The Best is Yet to Come.” Discussions focused on advancing equality in science, technology, and innovation for socio-economic sustainable development, aligning with the SDGs.
It was truly inspiring to see how our local efforts align with global initiatives, meet incredible changemakers, and learn from impactful projects around the world.
A Shared Commitment to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
This journey has reinforced the critical role of public-private collaboration in achieving socio-economic sustainability. We are incredibly grateful to our Corporate Sponsorship Partners for their trust, long-term commitment, and financial investment through our annual CSR memberships. Their ongoing support allows us to expand our initiatives and create lasting impact.
We also extend our thanks to our Community Partners for their collaboration and to our Ad Hoc Program Partners for their valuable contributions, all of whom help us strengthen our community and drive meaningful change.
