Wednesday 19th November was International Men’s Day, and we wanted to celebrate with all the great men in our community – so we held a special event!

We started the day in the Cookery School, creating chicken parmesan dishes with our Community Chef. Then we had a lovely free lunch in the Garden room, big thank you to our catering team! At 1:30 pm we held a quiz for our male members with the winner getting some chocolates which they kindly shared with other quiz attendees.

The main event of the day was the Men’s Shed’s very own board game that they created in collaboration with the British Museum –  a twist on the classic game Snakes and Ladders which they have called Rivers and Roads. It was great to play a board game that they had designed and produced themselves!
