We love opening our doors to our community, and these are just two of the big celebrations we held in October for St Luke’s Day and Black History Month.
To celebrate St Luke’s Day, we had our annual St Luke’s Open Day – our centre was open to the public to showcase the breadth of our services, spaces and activities. We were so excited to engage with over 200 people from our local community in many different ways, with taster sessions, arts and craft tables and chatting over a delicious curry.
For Black History Month we opened the doors to our community with music, dancing, crafts and a Community Dinner for all – a welcoming, vibrant event. The food prepared by our catering staff and volunteers was okra stew, jerk chicken and curry goat – absolutely delicious. There was crafting and flag making, and our Women’s Multicultural Group even put on a fashion show! What a wonderful celebration!
