Legacy giving

March is Free Wills Month, and many charities are offering Will-writing services with solicitors free-of-charge, with no obligation to support that charity. Although St Luke's are not able to offer this service, there are various resources available online that can keep the cost of making a Will to a minimum, like writing the Will yourself.

St Luke’s grew out of the generosity of a group of local people, and we want that to continue for another 500 years. Donations make this, and more, possible. If St Luke's is a cause close to your heart, you can make a difference with a gift in your Will. However small your gift, it can make a world of difference to our community in south Islington. To many people the services and activities offered by St Luke’s are life-changing, and you can help this continue for years to come. Around 75,000 people visit our centre every year, and it is a vital hub in the community.

Michael Ryan, St Luke’s CEO, says: However small a gift, it can make a significant difference to our community in south Islington. Donations to St Luke’s play an important part in helping us provide the vital, and often life-changing, services and activities we offer on a daily basis. We want to remind people they can leave a gift to St Luke’s in their Will, and leave an ongoing legacy for people in the community.

St Luke’s began in the 1500s as a result of the kindness of a group of local people who set up St Luke’s Trust with a number of small donations from each. Today, we offer a modern and welcoming space for local people of all ages to gather. We recognise those individuals in society who suffer the greatest social inequality and exclusion, and deliver services and activities which improve the quality of life for the local community.

From helping alleviate loneliness through companionship for older people, to equipping kids with skills they can use for life, there is something for all ages and backgrounds at St Luke’s. We run an over 55s lunch club, cookery classes for local kids in the school holidays, a gardening group, fitness classes for all ages and much, much more. We even open on Christmas Day and provide a lunch and a present for our members, so no-one has to be alone.

If St Luke's is a cause close to your heart, you can make a difference with a gift in your Will.

Please use this pledge form to let us know if you've left a legacy to St Luke's in your Will. Thank you.
