About us Latest news Gardening in November Mosaic Workshops We are now half way through our 8 mosaic workshops. We meet every Tuesday morning at 10.30 in the greenhouse where Tessa from the Hackney Mosaic Project along with her team of expert mosaicists assist the group in making insect mosaics. We are going to use these mosaic boards to make a trail in our Edible Yard, creating a self-guided tour of our garden. We still have a few weeks left so please sign up at reception if you would like to join in. No previous experience needed. Garden Volunteer Trip to Kew On 7th October a group of gardening volunteers enjoyed a day trip to Kew Gardens. St Luke’s have a community membership and offer trips throughout the year if and when groups are interested. Our group enjoyed visiting the Chihuli, glass artist who has work displayed throughout Kew. They saw the Temperate House and an array of amazingly beautiful plants and autumn colours. St Luke’s are growing Mushrooms Our Wednesday after school gardening club has started growing mushrooms! We collected used coffee grounds from our café and inoculated the coffee in plastic bags with Oyster mushroom spawns. These are now enjoying the dark, cool temperature in our garden shed. Each week the group looks at the mushrooms to check on progress.
