The Worrall and Fuller Exhibition Fund (Charity number 312507) is recruiting additional members to its Board of Governors.

Dating back to 1689, we are a small charity that supports the education and training of children and young people who live in, study in or have parents working in, the southern part of Islington – the former London Borough of Finsbury. We make grants, ranging from about £250 - £750 each, to around 25 to 30 children and young people each year for educational and vocational purpose. Our current priorities are to help meets the cost of extra-curricular, non-mainstream education and out-of-school activities. St Luke’s Centre provides us with a Clerk for the charity and financial management.

We are entering an exciting stage in the life of the charity as we await a significant boost to our financial resources arising from a prospective land sale.  This will increase the number and size of the grants that we are able to make.  The Board of Governors is responsible for overseeing this transaction, supported by professional advisers. Ideally as a Governor you would:

  • have experience of investment and financial management, especially in the non- profit sector
  • be living in our area of operation, or have other personal connections with it
  • have an understanding of state education
  • support the Chair in the current period of transition and growth
  • be able to attend at least two Board meetings a year and be available from time to time for other consultations

The Governors’ positions are unpaid
