We held our annual volunteer ‘thank you’ and recruitment event on Thursday 13th June, and had a lovely evening!

Ray O’Halloran, our chair of trustees, thanked all the individuals and groups of volunteers that make a real difference to the services we provide to local residents.

Our community engagement team spoke with prospective volunteers who expressed an interest in joining the team.

We were delighted that William Lui, playing the cello, Sirma Baramova, playing the viola, performed at the event. They are students from the Guildhall School of Music who have been working with St Luke’s to offer a recital performance to sections of the community who might not otherwise engage with classical music.

The cookery school was filled with groups of people who made their own pizzas with special toppings. The pizza-making was extremely popular and all of them were cooked in our own magnificent pizza oven.

Holly Willmott, community engagement and volunteer coordinator, said about the evening:

“It was brilliant to have the opportunity to say a huge thank you to all our volunteers – I loved getting to know everyone better whilst making pizzas and listening to some wonderful music.”

If you would like to volunteer, please email Holly.
