Our Community Centre membership is open to all ages. Our aim is to enable residents to work, play and learn together for mutual benefit and well-being. If you live within our area of benefit you can take out life membership of St Luke’s for just £5 at any age (for as long as you live in the area).

St Luke’s has a long history of bringing our community together. We recognise the hardship and isolation many people in inner cities face. Our aim is to connect them to useful services, promote health and well-being and encourage people to learn new skills.

The Centre is safe, friendly, fun and vibrant, as well as offering the high quality and wide variety of services available to suit every need and age.

The benefits of membership and being part of a thriving community include priority access to free or low-cost services and classes taking place in the Centre (charges and access depend on specific activity), access to special events and activities and access to free after-school clubs, Job Club and Central Street Cookery School community classes.

We have a thriving over 55s membership who benefit from our Islington-wide Lunch Club and varied daily classes and activities. Read our Over 55s Newletter here.

  The lady that works at the reception, I think her name is Grace/Denise? (Fair-skilled) (I am not entirely sure but working hours normally weekday, afternoon 12noon) She is an amazing person! So helpful, spoke kindly, helped me so much as I was new to the area. She an asset to the community and must be for the organisation too!!

Title: Five out of Five Stars – Proper community spirit, done well

I have visited St Luke’s Community Centre for workshops, meetings, and the café, and it consistently sets a high bar for what a local community space should be. The building is well laid out, welcoming, and clearly designed to be used properly rather than just looked at. The staff are warm, organised, and genuinely helpful, whether you are booking rooms, attending training, or just dropping in for lunch. Communication is clear and efficient, and on busier days everything still runs smoothly without feeling rushed.

The café deserves particular mention for its fresh, home-style food at very reasonable prices, and there is a relaxed atmosphere that encourages people to stay rather than rush off. It feels lived-in in the best way, with families, professionals, and locals all sharing the space comfortably.   I went for a training (CPD) with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Brilliant experience in making music. Tara, Paul Griffin and the team were epic!
