Volunteer Role Outline
St Luke’s Over 55s Volunteer
Outline of Duties
1. To support older people visiting St Luke’s enabling them to access and participate in the over 55s services, activities and facilities.
2. To be involved in all activities taking place in the Club Room, Lounge, Dining Room in particular taking an interest in members and spending time talking with them and so on.
3. To encourage and assist members to take part in table games, quizzes, craft and other group activities.
4. Every morning check/refill coffee, sugar, tea and milk, regularly serve hot/cold drinks to members on the 1st Floor, who are unable to do so themselves and if possible encourage others to help themselves, if they can. Empty and fill the dishwasher as necessary and help keep the kitchen area clean and tidy.
5. To help disabled and frail members lunch club users by carrying trays, liaising with catering staff, etc.
6. To help keep the Club Room and kitchen tidy, dishwasher loading/unloading and leave the rooms set out and prepared for the next day’s sessions.
7. To support the Community Organiser/ Driver to organise parties and events including preparing and decorating rooms, preparing and serving food and refreshments, promoting attendance and supporting entertainment, etc.
8. To come to staff members with any areas of concerns and to act in accordance with St Luke’s Volunteer Handbook and the organisation’s Code of Conduct.
Hours required: Once or twice a week. Any day or days Monday to Friday 10.00am to 3.00pm. All year round or school term time.

Volunteer Role Outline
Cookery School Volunteer
Volunteers will help Community Chef during Cookery School Class and other cooking activities with food preparation and cooking, creating healthy, nutritious meals. You will get an opportunity to learn, share food and gain valuable experience as a class assistant delivering cookery classes. Additional training can be provided.
Outline of Duties
1. To help with kitchen space, appliances and food preparation before the class
2. To assist class participants under the Class Tutor guidance.
3. To help with cooking and food serving and sharing
4. To help with tidying up after class.
5. To ensure the class areas are clean, safe and tidy during and at the end of each class, following Health Safety guidance from tutor.
6. To raise any concerns with staff and to act in accordance with the Volunteer Handbook and the Organisation’s Code of Conduct.
7. To work effectively with St Luke’s staff and other volunteers to deliver a confidential service that is non-judgemental.

Volunteer Role Outline
Activity Event Support Volunteer
Our Activity Support Volunteers support tutors and facilitators with the smooth running of the children and family activities. You will be allocated a task to supervise, support, but most importantly have fun during one off events at St. Luke’s.
Outline of Duties
1. To help with preparing and setting up of the activity spaces.
2. To assist with welcoming attendees and supervision.
3. To take the register.
4. To support the tutor/facilitator with the art/craft/session/games/food and drinks serving
5. To ensure the areas are clean, safe and tidy during and at the end of activities.
6. To raise any concerns with staff and to act in accordance with the Volunteer Handbook and the Organisation’s Code of Conduct.
7. To work effectively with St Luke’s staff and other volunteers to deliver a confidential service that is non-judgemental.

Volunteer Role Outline
Volunteer To Assist With Garden Watering
Outline of Duties
1. To assist with the functioning of the green spaces and edible yard
2. General watering and maintenance of St Luke’s green spaces and edible yard
Hours Required: Seasonal Tasks when needed and fits in with Volunteers availability
Skills and experience: No experience needed

Volunteer Role Outline
Trio Bike Volunteer
Outline of Duties
1. To safely cycle St Luke’s Trio bike, carrying up to two passengers on the front of the bike for pleasure rides.
2. To support older passenger and/or a parent and child in safely getting on and off the Trishaw bike and whilst they are passengers on the bike.
3. To undertake training with the Trishaw bike to ensure you are able to handle the bike and are confident in following the routes before taking on passengers.
4. To follow the set routes as much as possible unless this is unreasonable to do so.
5. To follow the volunteer guidelines for this project and maintain the health and safety of yourself, your passengers and other road users and pedestrians. Please report any issues to reception and email the Project Manager for follow up.
6. To follow guidance on securing and maintaining St Luke’s Trishaw bikes to ensure they are safe for use each trip and secured at the end of the trip. Please report any issues to reception and email the Project Manager for follow up.
7. To carry out data monitoring of service users, number of passengers and names and number of rides completed to assist the Project Manager with reports to funders.
8. To offer at least 2 hours a week and advise Project Manager or Reception if you cannot attend.
9. To represent St Luke’s Community Centre as a positive ambassador whenever you are volunteering with us.
10. To come to staff members with any areas of concerns and to act in accordance with St Luke’s Volunteer Handbook and the organisation’s Code of Conduct.
Hours required: Regular Two-hour slot Monday to Friday mornings 11am to 1pm or afternoons 1- 3pm or 3pm-5pm flexible depending on volunteers’ availability. All year round or school term time. Saturday or Sundays may also be possible.

Volunteer Casual Facilities Assistant
Outline of Duties
1. As part of a team, be responsible for the visual presentation of the premises and the day-to-day caretaker tasks including manual handling.
2. To assist the Facilities Manager with keeping the building and machinery maintained effectively
3. To be responsible for the day-to-day compliance with health and safety related to this role
