Our charitable aim is to improve the conditions of life for the people living in our area of benefit. We believe that providing a Community Centre and services in the area will help break down barriers within the neighbourhood. We will contribute towards the area being welcoming, safe, healthy, alive with activity and neighbourly. Whether people live here, learn here, work here, play here or are simply visiting the area, our Community Centre will welcome them all, and, like their own neighbourhood, they will sense it belongs to them.

Our Community Centre is on the edge of the City of London, a diverse area containing extremes of wealth and poverty. It provides a space for local people to gather and socialise, and for us and other organisations to deliver services and activities for the local community at little or no cost. We have large and small rooms for getting people together, and facilities that enable us to have exercise classes, art studios, cookery classes, an online centre and much, much more. We have a fully-equipped Cookery School, which can be hired out, with all the income going back into classes to teach the local community about healthy home cooking and avoiding food waste. Most of the produce used in these classes is donated by local organisations and would otherwise go to waste.

Central Street Cafe is our glass-fronted, modern cafe at the front of the Community Centre on Central Street. It was opened in 2015 to fund our subsidised meals for the over 55s in the local area. The Cafe looks to source produce sustainably where possible, and has many vegan and raw options among its fresh daily menu. Get the latest from Central Street Cafe on their website

We also work outside in the community supporting other groups and running community events. Our centre welcomed over 71000 visitors in 2016, and approximately 68000 used our Central Street Café.

Community is at the heart of everything we do, and our modern and spacious Community Centre enables us to run our services and activities for those who really need them in the heart of this community.
