A new website is a big step for any organisation, but to streamline our events and membership online the time had come, after six years, to make a fresh start.
Fast forward a few months, throw in a plethora of decisions made and lots of hard work, and we have launched an online platform that fulfils our initial requirements and enables us to communicate with members more efficiently. Our vibrant, modern design is easier to navigate, and activities and events for our members – at the heart of our community centre – are showcased in a calendar, making them easy to view and book.
After chatting to several website companies we chose to work with Click Return, who had done a small web project with us in early 2023, and quickly understood our values and ethos. We knew they could make our vision a reality well within our budget.
Lisa Burrell, Senior Communications Manager at St Luke’s, says: “Click Return understood us quickly as an organisation, so it was a great fit and we had full confidence in the quality of their work. They really stood out for their pragmatic approach and knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO) – essential for directing people to our site. They demonstrated their understanding of our charity and reach, and what we wanted to achieve.”
As Bradley Bishop, CEO of Click Return, says: “We love making websites easier to use for the end user and looking professional, and could easily do this within the budget for St Luke’s. The old site had been around for many years and lots had been added that was difficult to find, particularly on mobile. Starting a new design with a clean slate means we could make the site easy to use for both end users and staff.”
Bradley adds: “It was important to clearly represent the main services provided by St Luke’s as well as show the main funding assets – the rooms for hire. The room hire section needed to rank high on Google for companies and individuals looking to hire the spaces.”
Lisa concludes: “We’re thrilled with the result and have received some positive feedback from regular users about information being easier to find. We feel like we now have a website that supports the way we work at the Centre and makes it easier for everyone to join us and benefit from the amazing range of activities and services St Luke’s offers.”
We will be rolling out event and activity sign-ups online over the next few weeks, with some events at the Cookery School already taking online bookings.
