With the cost of living crisis continuing to bite, St Luke’s is grateful to receive a Community Organisations Cost of Living Fund grant of £46,902 to support the staffing, food, utilities and volunteering costs of delivering the St Luke’s Food Hub from July 2023 to March 2024. These Government Grants support charities and community organisations in England at the frontline of dealing with the increase in the cost of living, and are delivered by the National Lottery Community Fund, the largest community funder in the UK.

Our Food Hub has been running since 2020 and is a vital source of support for people struggling to make ends meet in our local community. We provide support to local families on an eight-week rolling basis, with access to weekly food packages and grants, help filling in forms for benefits and our employment advice. In the past few years this help has become an integral part of how we navigate our community through challenging times, and we deliver it through grants like this from the National Lottery Community Fund and deliveries from tireless food surplus organisations like the Felix Trust and City Harvest.
