Our women’s dance group were lucky enough to perform at the Get Into Dance Festival at Sadler’s Wells at the weekend, and put on a fabulous performance despite a few nerves. The group have been perfecting their jazz routine all term at their Thursday afternoon meet-ups at the Centre (1.30-3pm) and were excited to take to the big stage.

The Festival’s aim is to open up and inspire women in the community to get into dance of any genre, and our group were thrilled to be part of it. It was a real team effort but an exhilarating day for everyone involved. A huge ‘thank you’ to Sadler’s Wells and our dance tutor for teaching the group, and to the dancers for pushing themselves and achieving such a high performance level.

Our Thursday afternoon class is open to all female members of St Luke’s and runs term-time 1.30-3pm. The group are now starting preparations for a performance at the Whitecross Street Party – watch this space!
